Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad

Today would have been the 69th Anniversary of the day my parents were married. They were married November 20, 1941--Thanksgiving Day. Apparently in that year President Roosevelt felt people needed a longer time between Thanksgiving and Christmas to shop and said Thanksgiving could be celebrated on the fourth Thursday of the month or on the third, and left it up to each state to decide when they wanted to celebrate. In Maryland they celebrated Thanksgiving on the 20th. My parents then went to Florida for their Anniversary and had a second Thanksgiving because Florida elected to celebrate on the traditionl day. I know they are celebrating together now. Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad.
